What is the correct pressure for these tires and what do the letters and numbers mean:

Fronts- Tai Shan---6:00/16---R-I---Nylon---6PR---Rim-4.50E
Rear- Teng Jiang---9.50/24---R-I---Nylon---8PR---Rim-W8

Not sure the proper inflation pressure. Give a look at the sidewall of the tires and you should find it there.


Tire ID:
tire cross section/rim dia (inches) ---?-?---cord material---layers of cord (ply rating)---rim width.

On ply rating, it may not be actual layers of cord. It did represent layers many yrs ago but with improved materials there are fewer layers today but with same strength as the older actual plies.

Tire inflation pressure,

front ag tire 6.00 X 16 26 to 29 psi
rear ag tire 9.50 X 24 15.5 to 17.5 psi

These are specs for the ag tires on my 284LE.
