I am NOT in the market for another cutter, but am kinda curious about this.

I saw an ad for a Super-Duty rotary cutter. It eliminates shearbolts, belts and slip clutches by using a pneumatic tire as the blade drive. It is marketed by a Mexican company. This sounds very different than anything I have heard of before. I can think of both advantages and disadvantages for this type of design. Anyone have any firsthand knowledge of this type of cutter?

No first hand knowledge but that design has been around for quite awhile. The pic below is one that popped up on a craigslist sometime ago. I understand they can slip a good bit if you cut when the grass is pretty wet.

There is/used to be a brand of cutter in the US called a Sidewinder, it used a tire drive like that. Been around for at least 30yrs, still see some around here. I've never used one so I can't comment on the operation of one.
