Tractor
380 Case
I have a Case 380 loader with CHEVRON pointed down on the rear tires. Was told that bacause of the front loader they were installed that particular way, problem is traction forward isn't the best. is this the proper mounting for this tractor?

The proper way for chevron tire mounting is that the chevron pushes dirt to the outside of the tire when the tire spins. So if your standing at the rear of the tractor the chevrons should be pointing up. R-1 tires wear faster on hard surfaces when mounted this way rather than the reverse so some mount them backwards for better tire life on hard surfaces.

If you swap the tires side for side (one or two piece rims) or turn them around on the same side (two piece rims) depending on your mounting system they will be mounted correctly. If you do it yourself and they are loaded be very careful as a loaded tire can be quite dangerous.

Please post a pic and we can tell you quickly.

PMSMECHANIC is correct. I was thinking that if the tread pattern was not obvious to the OP that it would be to the members. He is also right about swapping the tires!

Thanks PMSMECHANIC, we have had it for like 5 months and never noticed it when doing food plots on our deer property, mother than not great traction...moved the corn planter in 6 inches of snow with the bucket but basically had to do in reverse. That's when i saw the tire pattern! Wish I took picture of it!
