When I purchased my tractor, I noticed another unit on the lot that had some pretty serious cracking in the sidewalls of the R-4 fronts. Mentioned it to dealer - Response was that they'd had some issues with that, and were replacing them under warranty. I believe tire brand was Titan.

Anyways, I was admiring my tractor after moving some dirt the other night, and I noticed some cracking in the tread area around the lugs. This unit has just 10 hrs on it. I contacted the dealer, and they're taking care of it when they come on up for the free 50 hour service (probably later this summer). He was real nice about it and apologetic as all get out. I know my tractor came in with R-1's, and I had agreed to swap tires with an '07 model that had R-4's, since my tractor will be seeing quite a bit of lawn and hard surface use. I had scrutinized the sidewalls before agreeing, but did not expect to see this on the tread surface.

Has anyone else had issues with checking / cracking???

Thanks,

Lunk

My Century 3040 tractor is 4 years old and has 230 hours on it and it has the Titan R-4 tires. I have seen no problems with my tires. I wish I had the R-1 tires. The R-4 tires are no good on the steep ground I use my tractor on.

Ernie are the tires you have for sale the R-1 tires ? If so I am interested in them but the shipping to where I live might be to expensive but it's worth me checking into. Are you the Ernie of Ernie's Imports in Oregon. If so I can contact you on your web site. Let me know.
