What is the difference between these two sizes (the one has an 'L' added) ?

17.5L-24
17.5-24

Maybe you can explain the 2 numbers in general too what are they measuring ?

Sorry for dumb newbie question

A google search on "tractor tire size explanation" will come up with several hits.
There are even some for metric sizes. Saw reference to the L that indicated it had to do with ag tread. ??

17.5 is the tire width when mounted, the 24 is the rim diameter.

I have the 17.5L-24 size on my TYM 433, they are industrials, what exactly the L means I do not know.

I think L indicates low profile in a R4 tire. Tirechains.com told me that the chains for 17.5x24 R4 and 17.5Lx24 R4 are the same.
