So I have an old tin building/lean to we have converted for a chicken coop. I'm putting in 3 2' x 2' sliding windows in for the enclosed part. Do you guys think that will be enough to keep it cool enough for them in the summer months? 1 south window, 1 north window and 1 east window. The east window opens to the lean to part.

How big is it? How much effort would it be to put in a ceiling and some insulation to keep from picking up heat from the roof? If you can do that you should stay relatively cool with the windows.

Looks like that should be open enough for good ventilation with the added windows

Are u worried about predators with no roof in pen? Also I think if u have some shade in outer pen for them they can go out there if it's to hot in side.

I have a roost area built inside. The outside pen will be covered with 1" chicken wire. Any other suggestions?

will you be trying to keep bitties inside or not. if so.. 1" cw is small enough to let them wiggle thru, also predators like coon and possum can grab a chicken thru 1" wire, pull it to the edge and chew off flush as much as they can pull thru. if neither of those are a concern in your area, and no captive bitties.. not a problem.
