Where do I begin.....
What's more, time flies even when you're NOT having fun. It just slips away sometimes.

I had my agenda for this summer all mapped out. Most plans involved getting our new place "just right". First on the list was to fence an area in the back yard for our dogs. Then to finish the tractor shed. )Just a roof and back wall so far) Then I broke a leg. After that, my employer decided I'd be the best person to write next years budget. All along, the garden did far better than expected. TONS of veggies to pick, can/freeze.

No fence. Shed is still a stack of lumber. long list of undone's

Anyone else a little "behind the 8 ball"? What task are you beginning to doubt will be done before the snow starts to fly?

I have been working on getting house ready to put on the market. Last time I answered "when it would be ready?", I said Spring of '06!. We have completed most of the inside. So I have been tring to get all the outside stuff done before winter. Main items to get done; build front porch roof (12x44') and pour a side walk( 30+ ft with 12 steps). Spreading gravel on a new drive way/parking area.(1000 sq-ft). Oh, and some land scaping.

Well, just to much!

Hahaha, you're right about that. It seems that the "to do" keeps getting longer. However, I'm very pleased in having completed several tractor projects this year. The problem is TBN...everytime I log in there's another cool thread about another cool project. Now I've got several going at the same time and nothing done. The other thing is "regular work" gets in the way too.
What I'm most dissapointed about though, is the progress on building the house at the property. Architectual and engineering corrections have set the project back. Additionallly, the fluctuation of building materials, gas prices and such has made pricing the project a nightmare. We were hoping to "break ground" at the start of Summer and have yet to pull permits. On the otherhand, the Solar Power project is proceeding nicely.
Then there's the never ending upkeep and maintenence requirements of everything else to deal with.

Farmwithjunk,
Yes all to common of a problem. I bought my farm about 5 yrs ago. Planned on having it fixed up in 2 yrs, well I am still about 1/3 done after 5 yrs.
wife is part of the problem, she keeps volunteering me for church and friends of hers jobs.
The church stuff she has gotten me into has eaten up about 1/4 of my non paying job hours so far this year.....
Am thinking of becoming a buddist or something :)

Hey Rob, sorry to hear the disappointment on the progress of your house. I'm too disappointed with the progress on my barn. I got everything right the 1st time on the plan and permits. Beat the county building rule changes by getting plan in before dec 31 of last year. Now I got stuck at waiting for the well driller to make sure we can get water. Can't start the foundation and concrete work without water. The foundation contractor wanted an extra $3500 if he has to bring water in:eek: . That's more expensive than bottled drinking water.

May be I'll re-phrase this a little bit (Sorry Farmwithjunk, not trying hijack your thread..:D .) Time flies when you are not getting as much done as you would expect.

Well Farm,
I didnt get much done around the place this spring and summer because I was tryin to get the house ready for the wifes family reunion

Then came the hot weather, and I mean hot  About all I could do was stand around and look at all the stuff that needed to be done :)

But in the last couple of weeks Ive got quite a bit done on my Super A :) Im hoping another two or three weeks and I should have everything pretty much done on that tractor, sigh, big relief :) Of course then Im gonna want to take it to some shows and some rich guy is gonna offer me a bunch of cash for it, then what

Hey, and were finally gettin some nice red maters out in the garden :)
Nothin like mater sandwiches :)

But then again you didnt ask about my garden :) Sorry !

Count me in on projects that never seem to get done. I've been digging a hole and moveing dirt for two years now, and I still don't have a lake!!!

I honestly thought I'd have it done by the end of February, but here it is August, and I haven't moved a single yard of dirt all month.

I keep thinking that as soon as I get this one project done, I can move on to something new, but it doesn't seem to be working out that way.

I am with you.

Finished roof on kids fort/tree house:

http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80976

put it on hold till fall and now rushing finishing hay storage to be filled with hay by the end of August. Add grass cutting, car maintenance, time to spent with children, work needed here and there and a huge project in my full time job - and I feel like the band wagon is already leaving.

I am glad to hear that I am not the only one that is falling further behind than I am making progress. This year, all the construction, land clearing, land scaping, maintenance, etc....and still so much more to go. Have to finish the HVAC system in the barn still (ducting), but the boss has given me different marching orders. Oh, well.....

...I can only image Eddie doing what he is doing by himself...I am trying to do a little pond (12x15) + a small creek and waterfall and haven't gotten any further than draw out the plans.

Maybe they should add a couple of hours per day to allow us to catch up.

Top of my list (want to do but won't get done):

Buy a tractor.

Second on my list:

Use that tractor to landscape my yard.

Since the first one on the list has been shot out of the sky by the CFO for this year, looks like in the next month I'll be renting to attempt to get the second one maybe done before the rains start.

I have said that many a time, didn't think I was only one. Lots of plans put on hold for me too. A brace that I wear on my teeth to keep my jaw in line (TMJ) keeps breaking. When it is on I am a normal person, but get it broke or out of line, look out. Excruciating pain and not a happy person to be around.
Anyway, wanted to get my foundation done for my house project before winter set in. But unless I get this thing fixed my have to put on hold. Gotta get garden veggies in and put up, along with wood cut for winter. My Uncle keeps telling me it's always something. But to me that is just wishing for something to happen. And don't you get what ya wish for? I guess, just keep a knockin' and it will get done!

Same here. Cleared land for a shop 2 years ago, still looking at the 18 loads of fill dirt.Been planting a back yard since march of this year I think it was but can't do that till I move my 12x32 tractor shed. It's in the way i'm told.
I'm either home when it's too hot or raining or at work when it's nice.Funny though, somehow I did find time to remodel a kitchen, two bathrooms and a rec room.Huh.
I just keep looking out my window at my shed....I know there's a new tractor in there, at least there was when last I looked.
Maybe next week............

Did make some progress. New pole barn workshop half painted, inside finished except for the 10 foot dry wall sheets that need to be carried to second floor and installed. Never did get the water line ran to it. Did get the 44 ton of gravel spread around the barn. Let the garden go on it's own to long. Did manage to mow the 5 acres every week (almost). Didn't get to clearing out some overgrown areas. Didn't get to clearing the fence line like I planned. Scrapped 20% of the paint (lead) off the last side of the house to be done and found some cracked siding that needs to be replaced but then I might as well rent a insulation blower and insulate the wall if the sidings off. Still thinking about that when... the call comes from a developer and he wants my 5 acres and a couple of other properties for a strip mall on the new road they are constructing. The others want to sell. I don't. Now I don't feel like finsihing anything.
