Super house Jeremy! I've really enjoyed following your build and thank you for sharing with us.

The slanted top on the linen cabinet is an artful touch that makes a big difference--among many other features.

Thanks Dave. I'd love to take credit for the artistic vision however the slanted top is actually flat. It just looks that way due to the distortion of the lens. No room to move back for the shot so I had to use a really wide angle lens.

I'd say its time to sit back and sip your favorite beverage of celebration. Time to take a deep breath and sigh away all the troubles you had with subs and such. Someday, you may find some of your past homebuilding turmoils almost something to chuckle over. I have shown many of my family members your home and everyone just ooohs and aaaahhhhs. You have really built something special for your family. Something that adds up to more than the total of the parts.

God bless your new home!

I agree with everyone else here. You have a beautiful home and should be proud of yourself in what you've accomplished!

Jeremy,
I think I may have already said it but WOW! You did an excellent job building that house and documenting it for all to see. Hope you get many years of enjoyment out of it.

Everyone that I know that builds a house always finds something they would like to change. Have you found anything yet?

I'm guessing your basement is your storage/catch all room. How big is it?

Eddie - Coming from you I'll take your words as a great compliment. Keep posting. All of your work is top notch and I really enjoy your threads.

Right now the basement looks like a bomb went off. Its just unfinished storage + garage and is the resting place for anything that's been in the way or not in use during the build. The basement area is approx 1400 sq/ft and garage is around 540 sq/ft if I remember correctly.

We've been living there since May and so far I've only found a few minor things.

1. master bathroom vanity. The sinks are split left and right of the center cabinet. I remember starting to nail in an outlet box for a light switch for each vanity and then changing my mind and only doing one switch for both lights. I know it may seem petty but I really wish I had switched the two mirror lights independently.

2. Outlets in the upper corners of the living room. See attached. I placed these on each side for power for decorations, Christmas lights, etc but did not put them on a switch to turn on and off. I found a cheap remote control plugin that we can use if needed.

3. Outside lights for the fireplace chase. I wired lights on the corners of the house shining out to light up the wood and timbers. I never thought about it at the time but I should have ran power on out to the outer timbers to shine back toward the outside fireplace. Its a nice looking feature on the outside of the house and at the moment I have no way to light it up at night.

That's about it so far.

I feel like I just looked through an issue of Architectural Digest!
Beautiful home, now go have a beer. ;)

Whatever it is you do for a living, you're in the wrong business. You could make a fortune designing and building houses like this full-time. It's that good.
