The lighting really sets it off.

You have created something truly amazing!!! WOW just doesn't have enough impact on how good that looks.

How many people can you sit?

Thanks guys. The pics look great but to see it in person, especially when lit up at night is hard to explain. The setting at night simply spectacular. I'm looking forward to working on the outside next. The outside is really going to bring everything together once we get done with the barnwood and stonework. We can comfortably seat 300 and have room for a dance floor utilizing mostly 60" round tables. We can go up to 330-340 using 8 ft long tables.

I will admit that taking today off is nice however I'm having a hard time just lounging today. I've pushed so hard for so many days in a row now that I'm finding it hard to relax. Not sure that really makes sense but I feel like I should be doing something. Feeling a little bored. Lol.

Relaxing wears me out. Worse vacation I ever took was to the beach where there was nothing to do but sit on the sand!!!!

Ended up spending a little time yesterday finishing up a side project that I started last September and never quite finished. Everything but the stars was complete. I was able to get them chiseled out. My plan is to hang this flag behind the bar. All of the lumber was cut from the reclaimed lumber I used on the home build. Just need to get a couple of coats of poly over it and it will be ready to hang.

Pieces all cut into tongue and groove boards. The flag looks out of proportion here because it's laid out and the t&g pieces have not been tapped together.

Semi Transparent paint put on all of the red stripe boards and blue for the corner. These were all oak. I used pine for the white boards. These were left
natural.

Most of the paint was then taken off with a wire brush. The blue corner was skimmed on the planer as well.

Flag with one coat of poly before chiseling the stars out. I'll get some new pics up once I get a couple more coats of poly to cover the stars and make it pop a bit more.

I have seen something like this before... always thought I would try to make one of these for our place.

Love the flag idea, I have some old rough cut lumber I could use to make this with.

I wondered about using a chisel for the stars and then thought about having to paint them.

Yeah, I can chisel all of them lol

Yeah, I can chisel all of them lol

I printed the stars from my computer printer to scale, taped several sheets of paper together to make up the single sheet of 50 stars, then taped the sheet to the flag. Used a hammer and chisel to strike all of the star outlines, then finished chiseling by hand.
