Yanmar YM2000
I have the chance to purchase a 52 inch tiller for a good price, however, I'm thinking it may be too large for my YM2000. Any inout would be appreciated.

I don't think that's too big, but it is near the maximum I'd be comfortable with. If you make light passes (2"-3") before going deeper than It should work fine.

Is it a Yanmar tiller?

I've got a 1200mm (47") tiller for my F15D and have no problem with it at all. With a 52" tiller you would have 10% more width and 33% more horsepower. Seems like a safe bet to me.

I have a 48" king kutter tiller and pull it with a YM2000.
I can't see any reason 4" would make a difference.

Have fun / be safe.

One thing not covered so far is your ground condition. It has a great impact on power requirements.

I just finished up on some "virgin" ground that hasn't been turned for many yrs. 2-3" depth put a big load on the tractor, my F24, I could see the temp gauge rise with the load and was moving in low/first gear. The motor was working quite hard.

Yrs ago I used a 4' tiller on my 50hp MF165 on a garden plot. I did dig deep and the load was a real strain on that tractor.

It's all about ground conditions.
