Tiller Recomendations for JD790

Can someone help me with tiller recommendations for my 790? I see where some are using 5' wide. Do you wish you had gone 4' wide or is 5' working OK? The only place I have locally will be County Line at TSCO, Frontier at JD, or Land Pride (think it's priced too high though). This will mainly be used for food plots, tilling small areas (less then 1/4 acre).

I'd go with the 5', and if running short on hp then go slower and/or less depth. Or make a second or third pass. I assume the 4' won't cover your tire tracks. My 5' on my 4300 works just fine. Maybe the hydro tranny helps to adjust speed too.

You shouldn't have any problem running a 5' with 26 pto hp. I run a 4' with 18 hp without any problem.

790 will run a 5 footer fine.

I run a 5 foot king kutter with 19.5 pto hp. I have had no problems with power however my tractor is hydrostat so adjusting speed is very easy. I can till much faster with this then I can with a walk behind rear tiller and have not wanted for more horsepower always was able to go at whatever speed I chose in my soil.

I owned a 790 and used a KK 5 footer behind it. Perfect size for that tractor IMO.

I have a KK 5' tiller for my 790 and as foggy1111 stated and I agree it is the perfect size for it. I have never wished I had gone smaller either. Covers tracks perfectly and the 790 has plenty of power for it.

Ive run a 5' KK tiller on my 2520 since 2006 and no problems..
