3-Point Hitch Tiller hitting wheels

New to the site and a know this topic has been discussed but I need info where I can bye the special 3 pt top bar made for yanmar tractors to fit tillers. I have a 2210 Yanmar. Thanks

It's more than a bar. It's a 'bridge' pinned to the tractor to move the pivot point out several inches, then a short, 10(?) inch top link. This changes the geometry so the lift goes closer to straight up instead of curling inward.

I could go out and take photos and dimensions if you need to fabricate one. The bridge would be a simple welding project but a short adjustable top link would be harder to make. That top link takes a beating from the tiller torque so adapting a turnbuckle or something wouldn't be tough enough.

Thanks Hoye can't get them anymore. I mat just weld some flat metal on the tiller and drill out the holes. I was just trying to get out of some work.

They had one when I bought a tiller from them a few years back. Not sure if they have any now, but worth a call.

I might just weld some flat metal on the tiller and drill out the holes. I was just trying to get out of some work.

Moving the tiller back might incur the cost of a longer pto shaft.

Or - adding a slip clutch might provide the extra shaft length needed. Better measure first!

I have a spare one. I have a 1610D. Someone can chime in about if it will fit. I would imagine it would. The 1610 and the 2210 are very similar. I will look for a picture on mine with it installed. Will have to look on computer at home later. Thing is pretty heavy so might cost a little to ship. If you are interested let me know.

Hi,

Had same problem with using a Kubota tiller with my Yanmar 1720D. So using the photo (below) showing the correct top bar hanging down, measured it on the photo. Then scaled it up to the full-size (scaled from measurements of the tiller on the same photo).
Then made one. Had a local firm laser-cut and drill the two triangular plates and then welded a spacing between them using some steel offcuts I had lying around.
Then cut down a small top link and using the two ends and some of the threaded box made a short link.
The result can be seen in the other picture. No longer clips the rear tyres and lowers horizontally too.

One comment - my 'bridge' - my name for that special adapter - came with bolts instead of pins to secure it to the tractor. That fixed part on the tractor takes a beating from the torque of the tiller and the holes there tend to get elongated after much use. Bolts snugged down eliminate the slop. But for occasional use this is probably irrelevant, it would be significant only in commercial service.

I hadn't thought of that (bolting the triangular plate) but it certainly makes sense. Thanks for the heads-up.

Yup! In the Pics. I posted before. I can almost guarantee this is the way it rolled of the boat. It came from Fredricks. I'm sure that is what the #'s came from. The bolts also have bushings to help lock it up so it can be easily tightened and removed/installed.

I had that problem when I went to attach a Yanmar RS1200 rototiller to my Kubota B7510HST.
I removed the lower arms and replaced them with the longer arms from my 1964 MF135.
Added a new pto shaft and slip clutch.

My RS1400 sure worked great with the factory setup, which is a bigger tiller. Maybe being a kbota was the reason. It was close to the rear wheels but with the correct top link it moved out away from the rears then up when lifting it. I shortened a drive shaft so I had two if I didn't want to remove the overrun clutch. Never needed a slip clutch. If I ever hit anything the Tiller always rolled up, It and the tractor forward with no overrun. And I buried that sucker!! My late 60 yr. old mother loved it...

The decals on a un-restored RS 1400 tiller name YM2000 as the tractor it is intended for. Perfect match!
