Tiller for BX

I would like to get a tiller for my BX2200. I looked at the King Kutters but they looked kinda heavy, about 600lbs for the 48inch. The price was ok.780.00. I would like to stay about a 40 inch width. Does anybody know of a good on-line place to purchace one? And how does the BX handle rear mount tillers. Buy the way,I have ran my tractor about 3hrs since all the problems and it seems fine. I have a Howard Rotavator Hr-3 50" tiller, and it seems like it was designed for the BX, even the color matches perfectly. Their sales brochure even shows it on the BX. It does a great job on my BX, I use it quite a bit in the spring and fall. It's a bit more expensive though...if I remember right it was about $1300....

Looks good! I'm intrested in the setup you have with the headphones. Is that a portable CD player attatched to the ROPS? I velcro'ed a portable CD player on the BX22 and it didn't handle the vibration too well at all. Any hints? Thanks!

I just purchased a First Choice tiller from Carver. If I recall it is 44 inches and weighs about 325 pounds. It's painted Kubota orange. Haven't used it yet but it appears to be well constructed.

I also went with the First Choice tiller model RT 04 it is 48 inches wide and is 355 lbs. They have a web site at http://www.firstchoiceequipment.net The tiller is manufactured in Italy by Sicma they have a web site at http://www.sicma.it/ The tiller works great on my BX 2200, paid $1050 last March from Sweettractors.com, Carver was running a sale and was in the $900 range at the end of 2002, you may want to check out his web site or call him. Both Carver and Sweet are on this board and have a great reputation, with a lot of people not only buying attachments but entire tractors! I would not hesitate in dealing with either of them, good people. The tiller comes with a slip clutch on the PTO, and a jack stand . My experience with Sweet Tractor was great, the unit came oiled, greased and ready to go, I did have to cut the PTO shaft. The trucker they used delivered with a 18 wheeler with a lift gate, made it very easy to unload. The tiller was strapped to a pallet and covered with plastic. The First Choice tiller comes with a great paint job and if you go to the attachment board above you will get even more info on First Choice tiller just type in the search feature. Good luck I love my tiller!

I can leave the MMM on the BX2200 when tilling, not a problem at all with the MMM hanging up because of low clearance.

I looked at Howard, CCI and 25 series Land Pride. All are excellent. I also looked at King Kutter but felt it was not as well made. I made the decision to go with First Choice and just received a model RT10-66.
Try the RT10 series but just a little smaller. Carver or Sweet were both terrific and I recommend either.

The clearance is just fine with the mower on, I alwayst make another pass coing perpendicular to the first set of passes to catch anything I missed. Never any problems.

I put the CD/AM/FM player in a bellybag, then wrap the straps around the ROPS a few times and latch it. Gives the player a little shock absorbing, and I can take it out easy enough, as well as a little protection from rain. I have the Sony headphones that completely cover the ear to help muffle the sound of the engine, and they do a good job of it...don't even have to turn my country music up much! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
