Tie Rod Keeps Bending

My neighbor has a Kubota L2800. He has bent his tie rod several times backing over rocks and downed trees. I know the easiest solution........don't back over rocks and downed tress. The tie rod bends as a result of his tire being placed in a bind and not from material hitting the tie rod. He is considering having a heaver tie rod made. My concern is instead of bending the tie rod he will likely just break something else. Any suggests/thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If he gets one done, do both sides.
It's possible Kubota made those links "sacrificial" to prevent damage to more expensive, but I doubt it was intentional.

Been there done that... how about building a partial skid plate to protect that area... you could sell tons of them!!!

The skid plate idea has been discussed. However, the tie rods are bending not because anything struck the rod but because the wheels were placed in a bind which torqued the tie rod.

Then something else will break. I would build a skid plate before beefing it up.

With a stronger tie rod the arm on the front wheel may break. That's a harder fix than a tie rod.

I broke one on my Kubota B7100 when the front wheels jammed.

That can't be cheap... I would (since I'm a cheap SOB) take an old set, straighten it out, and lightly beef it up... I would not worry too much about the adjustment arm and weld some flat stock to the bottom of it. Yes, you WILL be running a chance of blowing out your power steering or a wheel... I only bent my once on a stump. I watch for that now. (I'm really surprised that it's being torqued)

straighten tierod, lay in angle iron and spot weld, about every 3 or 4 inches. Be sure isn't to long and hits something.

When had a l3600 GST tie rod would bend and one day visited the local auto parts house bought 2 new ends think Chev. that had adjustment on them and used 3/4 inch water pipe.welded the nut to the pipe and the bolt slide inside the pipe this stopped the bending.
The Kubota tie rod is soft metal and easy to bend. Don't see how could over torque or break the rod ends because it is hydrolic driven.with steering cyl. maybe different is manual gear box.
