Why are they so much cheaper? 1/3 the price.
I avoided them on my tnt project on the advice of my local hydraulics guy. For my snow blower, tie rod cylinders will bolt on with no mods at all so I think will go with them.

They are cheaper because they are much simpler to manufacture. There is less machining that goes into making one.

There is no reason not to use them-but often, due to the bulk of them with the exposed bolts and large plates on top and bottom they just won't fit into places that others will.

The snowblower is engineered to bolt these cylinders right on so I am happy to keep things simple this time.
