Hi - I was chatting in another area (about generators and shaft speed regulation), and they said tractor throttles were effectively self managed as to load and rpm.

Would my/our SCUT's have a sytem (either electonic or mechanical) have a system to maintain RPMs as the tractor was loaded? If so, what is the generic name for the system, main components, simple theory, etc?

I had assumed I would have to keep micro-adjusting for say, mower load as I drove along.

THX

All of the diesel engines I have seen have a mechanical governor that keeps the engine at the desire speed.

So then - a mechanical governor system (I guess flyweights or something) will maintain a setting, and not just limit the maximum? Cool!
