throttle issue

Merry Christmas to all!!

A bit of a problem . When I advance my RPM lever to say 2000 or so as soon as I release lever the RPM drop almost to idle. Keeping my hand on the lever is a real pain. I see under the hood on side is the throttle cable with a couple of nuts for adjustment (sorry, no pics). I have tried adjusting both ways but still slips down in RPM. Is there another adjustment possibly under the dash closer to the lever??

what model tractor. some have a friction disc with two jam nuts on the shaft that holds the lever on. loosen outside nut may need two wrenches one on each nut tighten inside nut till the throttle works to your satisfaction then tighten both nuts back up.

I took the return spring off of mine and it works great. The return spring on the pump seems to be plenty to do the job.

Took off the dash. Tightened the jam nut and Im all set to go.

I cannot find a spring on or near the motor? Is this spring under the dash where the throttle lever is located?

I think it's under the hood. If I remember correctly there is a spring on the pump and another extension spring on the linkage somewhere. That's the one I took off, no problems so far. Sorry for the CRS.
