Throttle cable tight

I was wondering if there was a good way to restore my 1984 jd throttle cable instead of buying another one. It works but is tight and difficult to move. Any techniques to clean it and get it to push/pull smoothly again?

Proably not, you might try a motorcycle shops. They sell a kit for lubing cables. You put the tool on the cable and the pressure from the aerosol can forces the lube into the cable.
