I have a B1550 Kubota compact tractor. I was brush cutting earlier with the lift about halfway up. It is stuck in this position. I can go up, but it won't come down. I can not see anything jammed anywhere - suggestions?
Coby is referring to the knob below the seat. If accidentally closed will stop the 3 pt. from going down. It controls the rate of descent or how fast the 3 pt goes down. Easy to hit it with your foot getting on or off the tractor. I've done it a few times myself.
On my Kubota the control for descent rate is a lever under the seat instead of knob. It was the first thing I checked. It seems to me that the bush hog (Woods Billy Goat) may have the 3 point hitch in some kind of bind. I will use a jack to relieve pressure and allow me to un-hitch the implement. If that does not do the trick at least I'll have it out of the way for further troubleshooting. Thanks for the advise, and I'm glad I found this Forum.
Did you happen to back the bush hog into something before this happened? If so, you may have high centered the lift arms and the piston or ram is jammed inside the case.
I'd check the valve under the seat first, if it's not that, then you're going to have to tear into it to get it fixed
