Threads disappearing

I was looking at a recent thread, fairly non-controversial, and it disappeared.

I googled it:

What would be the ideal place to go to live after retirement.. in the Country, with no extreme weather and a lot of space to live..

and it showed up, but when I click 0n the Google link I get:

Invalid Thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator

What's happening?

I just saw/read that thread less than an hour ago. Its gone - !!!!!!!! I googled and got the same response - Invalid thread specified................

The person who started it appears to have been a spammer (they had spam links in their signature), they were told to remove it but didn't and kept posting so they were banned.
The automagic "remove all posts by a spammer" tool also removes any threads that they started which (in this case) removed a thread that several other people were interested in.
So, nothing to do with the content of the thread, just the person who started it.
