Thoughts on this Craigslist list

I'm interested in your initial impressions of this list, all from the same seller. Do the prices seem reasonable? Do any of them stand out as sounding like a particularly good deal?

My use will be cutting 3-4 acres twice a month and pulling a drag for a dressage ring on a weekly basis.

We currently have an L120 with 350 hours that has developed what seems to be a common/expensive transmission problem (won't go up any slope after it warms up), and we are potentially looking for a replacement.

2005 John Deere LT160: 16HP Kohler Command, 42" deck, ~30 hrs use estimated: Retails for $3150 sell for $1450

2003 John Deere LX277: 17HP Kawasaki V-Twin, 48" deck, ~430 hrs use: Retails for $4850 sell for $1750....great condition...come see

2000 John Deere GT235: 18HP B&S Vanguard, 54" deck, ~200 hrs use: Retails for $5150 sell for $2250

2006 John Deere X475: 23HP Liquid Kawasaki V-twin, 48" deck, ~600 hrs use: Retails for $12,000 sell for $4550

2006 John Deere 155C: 25HP B&S V-twin, 48" deck, ~100 hrs use: Retails for $2300 sell for $1550 (looks fantastic)

Based on the work you need to do with your lawn tractor there's only 1-2 machine's in the list that I would genuinely consider - the JD X475 and maybe the GT235.

I think his retail price is on the high side for that machine (X475) and for a 2006 model that's a fair number of hours... I think he's a little on the high side of things with the GT235, too.

IMO - I'd keep shoppin' around!

I'm a fan of the JD older lawn tractors & their larger farming equip. but the newer small tractors are not built to last. I have a 2004 L130. Lots of problems with the deck, spindles, tension pulleys, wheel bushings. Way over-priced for poor quality. Look for another brand.

I am told that the L1XX series tractors are speced to compete with the MTD/AYP class machines at the big box stores and if you go with a 200 or higher series, they are a very different machine.
