Thoughts on King Kutter XB Mini Spreader?

Hi all, did a search via Google and found nothing within the last few years (2007 to be exact).

I'm considering the King Kutter XB mini spreader for my Kubota BX. I am interested in this unit because it's smaller than most spreaders and seems like a good fit for my needs and the BX. It would be used to spread granular lime and grass fertilizer in the summer and salt/sand mix in the winter.

I can't seem to find any place local that carries this particular unit so I'd be buying it sight unseen online. Before I do, I have several questions.

* Can this unit spread a salt/sand mix or is that a bad idea?

* Does anyone know the approximate dimensions or have a picture of one mounted on a SCUT? I can't seem to find this online.

* Any other recommendations for a SCUT spreader that I should consider?

I have one that I use for spreading pelletized lime. Works great and is a good fit for my BX. I've also used it on my MF 1540. Works well there too just have to refill more often than a bigger spreader. One thing I like about the size is it just barely fits between the wheel wells in my pickup when placed upside down and it isn't too big or bulky for me to load and unload out of the back of the truck by hand. That is important for me because I transport it between my house and farm.

I use a seed easy drop spreader for putting out lime, fertilize and grass seed. Its a tow behind spreader and I bought it because it would spread pulverized lime, which is about half the cost of pelletized. Its easily calibated and will hold 300lbs of pulverized lime. The auger is ground driven by the wheels and since the material is dropped straight down, you dont have to worry about wind drift in the event you want to put out some weed killers.
