That same engineer's brother works for Kubota. And he designed the fill port for engine oil where it cannot be seen if the front end loader is mounted on the tractor. The tractor's exhaust and the front end loader block access from the front and side; the cab is smack up against the loader support from the back side. It is possible, if the engine and exhaust are cold, to feel around back there and find the cap for the oil fill and remove it. Then I have to use a long funnel with a 3' hose on the end and thread that hose down into the fill port, by feel. FYI....it takes a long time to pour 3 gallons of oil into an engine through a skinny hose on a cold day!

Wouldn't it be quicker to remove the loader?

At least on my 90's JD with the loader raised I have access to fill port.

I am over it now, but I never could figure out why they put the battery under the back seat in a Buick LeSabre.
How 'bout the Jeep Cherokee I think it is. Has two batteries one under each seat...power seats. One battery is for engine starting and one is for accessories I think is how it's wired. So seat battery goes dead with the seat all the way back you have to remove the seat whose bolts are under the rail that cold be all the way back.
I don't and wouldn't own one but South Main Auto posted a video about the stop/start module the owner wanted fixed...why I have no idea but anyway that's where the batteries are.

Exactly! And it becomes a revenue opportunity for dealers, so a win-win for the car companies. And 95% of owners just write checks for repairs, so don't really care how hard it was for the tech, though they do gripe about the repair costs....

That same brilliant engineer placed the DEF tank in GM Duramax-powered trucks right behind the passenger front tire...
Speaking of tire, you sure are getting your money's worth out of that one. 🫣 ;)

Same engineers that put the engines on new trucks so far under the firewall that you have to remove the cab to work on it. They also work at Ford, same procedure there.

Blend door actuators is one of my favorites. I’ve replaced three in my lifetime. There are difficult to get at. On a car that used to be my daughters, a Chevy Impala, roughly a 2010, I spent about 15 minutes taking one bolt out and about the same amount of time putting it back in. The other two bolts were easy. The problem is the gears in these things are so cheap.

The Toyota Tacoma does not require manifold removal to change plugs.
The 3.5L engin is used on several platforms however. I can not speak to others.
I’m thinking of the highlander specifically.

On my Subaru Outback to drain the anti-freeze you had to remove a large piece of aerodynamic cowling to access a Philips head drain plug the faced straight down. Funny, when I put it back on a hole had magically appeared in the plastic so I could access the drain without removing the cowling.

My son works as a machinist making custom parts. His pet peeve is the engineers that specify ridiculously tight tolerances, just because they can. It one case they specified the flatness of a plate. Problem was the plate would sag more than the tolerance just setting on the test fixture.
