Due to the weight of the brass shells compared to the grass clippings, dropping them a couple feet in front of a fan would probably remove most of the grass. Then you have clean brass ready for reloading or sending to the scrap yard. A conveyor belt with a fan mounted under the end would allow you to dump the shells out on one end, allow them to scatter a little, and as they fall off the end the grass would be blown away, and a catch chute to channel them into buckets would be the last part.
