Sad but probably true. My company was 6 months into a wrongful death suit due to a firework accident before we actually got discovery to look at the fireworks in question. Product was not even our product line. Our insurance company still settled out of court to drop the suit because it was cheaper than going to trial to prove it. Cost me $10,000 deductible and a lot of time/frustration/worry. Our legal system really needs a revamp when it comes to lawsuits.

I doubt they’ll win anything. I’m sure the jack has warning labels all over that it’s a lifting device only not to go under the vehicle without additional support.
