Darwin outcome at a glance.
Sad but probably true. My company was 6 months into a wrongful death suit due to a firework accident before we actually got discovery to look at the fireworks in question. Product was not even our product line. Our insurance company still settled out of court to drop the suit because it was cheaper than going to trial to prove it. Cost me $10,000 deductible and a lot of time/frustration/worry. Our legal system really needs a revamp when it comes to lawsuits.Family will sue the manufacturers of the jack stand. Company will settle out of court. Settlement will be passed on to future customers.
Other makers of jack stands will raise their costs of jack stands while awaiting future litigation.
Who ultimately pays more?
