\"..*this* implement should\'ve been in the market.\"

No, I am not showing any new *this*. Just asking if you have ever said that? Ever thought of that *this* implement should have been in the market? What is your *this*? They say end users/customers are ruling the market, deciding on what items should be available in the market. This can be translated as "Demand rules Supply". Is this really so? I don't think so. For example, my *this* is a very small combine harvester which can be used by small, hobby farmers. This is my demand, but *this* item doesn't exist in the market.

Nomad, my "this" is a "V" bucktoothed backhoe bucket that can remove small mesquite quickly without them growing back. The mesquite has a deep limber tap root that keeps slipping through the backhoe teeth.
(HMMMM- next welding class project.)
What crop are you looking to harvest with the small combine?

TXDON, a small size tree transplanter can do the work you need. I plan to have a small area to grow grain (wheat.) Nothing more fun than growing the wheat.

Sometimes "this" is on the market but hard to find. Here's a link to one FEL tree spade:

Re: \"..*this* implement should\'ve been in the market.\"

I have a LOT of *this* stuff! Usually end up making it myself - unless it gets extravagant. Got a lot of *this* machinery that would be nice - some on the market, some not. Most of the *this* that does make it to the market is so expensive you can't afford to get it! Most important *this* would be a Money Machine, so I can get the other *this* I want!

*This* would be a modern compact utility tractor, frame built from high strength square tubing, separate motor, transmission, and pump, equal sized tires front and rear, 4-wheel steering, more comfort, longer or adjustable wheelbase, much higher ground clearance for easy mid mounting of landscaping implements and mowers.

Although it would probably be cheaper and more versatile than traditional tractors, it wouldn't sell, because it "doesn't look like a tractor."

Maybe you can find an old pto-driven pull type combine sitting in a shed. They used to be common.

There's a company in Haven, Kansas that manufactures 1/2 to 1/3 or maybe even 1/4 size combines. The seed companies use them to harvest their test plot rows.

Here's the link:

Make sure you have your BIG checkbook ready! They won't be cheap.

Re: \"..*this* implement should\'ve been in the market.\"

The only implement that comes to mind is the Danuser PTO Post Driver. They made if for years but in the last few years they've discontinued it because of a supplier problem. This machine is simply the easiest and most underrated fence building piece I've ever come across and so superior to the expensive hydraulic equivalents which aren't as versatile.

Nomad...if you can copy this machine, sell it, deliver it to my door for a reasonable price, well then I'll believe in you.

There you go. Here's a piece that needs producing at an economical price. What's your move???

Re: \"..*this* implement should\'ve been in the market.\"

Wiens,
I've seen these plot combines for a while on the internet.
Do you have any idea how long it would take to harvest a reasonable sized field with a 45 bushel grain bin and a 1.5meter header?
At least the MF 2000 series has a 119 bushel bin/15' header.
You'd have to start harvesting in May and try to be done by
December. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

They really are for seed companies and research. Some don't have grain bins but baggers instead. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nomad,
Look at these combine harvesters:
Sampo-Rosenlew
They used to be the DEUTZ-FAHR combines. They make one with about 80HP.

Re: \"..*this* implement should\'ve been in the market.\"

Nomad,
I can think of a lot of *this* that should be on the market:
Just about any compact version of a full-size piece of equipment. For example, do a search on "moldboard plows" -the smallest are the one, maybe a two bottom plow. Then there's a jump to about the four-bottom plow. And why is there no two-way plows for small tractors. Same thing for rear blades - with 100HP you can do any adjustment to your blade from the seat hydraulically; but, for compact tractors - nada.
It just seems that the compact tractors have basic basic style of implements, but not much serious, professional grade equipment.
Maybe the thing to do , like Indydirtfarmer does, is buy big implements cheap and customize them down to the size you need. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif That's just a stroke of genious!
