Greetings, There is a Farm King 60" snowblower W/O shaft. What do you think it is worth?

Is Farm King a good one?

It was on a Yanmar. The shaft may have been sold with the tractor. They mentioned $975.

What would you think, I'm thinking $450? Would I be able to arrange a shaft for $100 ?

Thankyou

Richard

I picked up a Farm King 60" snow blower w/shaft last spring for $500 Seems the prices are about half at the end of the snow season as they are in the fall. The s/b I bought was in good/excelent condition with not too much use. Farm King is a good home owner/utility grade unit. You should be able to pick up a PTO shaft for <$100 at most of the farm stores.

If the blower is in decent shape anything under a grand is a good price. The auger should turn freely and when you turn it the 2nd stage fan/auger should pick up a nickel, (quick and easy way to check for auger and drum wear). Check that the gear box is full of oil and no oil leaks.

Thanks for the feedback. I haven't seen this one in person yet. I'd like to have the shaft with the blower rather than hunt one down. There will be a difference in spline and such? There might be more to be had between now and winter next.

Greetings, Will it be simple to replace the shaft or will there be a hassle with metirc fittings or making a fit? Thankyou

Guys,
Just went out and checked my Farm King s/b the gear box has open gears that dont run in oil. The PTO shaft connects to either a 1.25" or 1.375 round shaft with a .25" key in it. Should be easy to get a pre-made PTO shaft that will bolt right on.

Greetings, If I can get it for $450 I'll have time to hunt for a shaft or get one configured for it. Does that make sense?
