I wasn't being crude, but I thought a "containment sock" was something out of a male underwear type catalog...

Glad I got the clarification...didn't need that image in my head:eek:

Oh, and what do you do with a saturated containment sock now that you are the proud owner of this toxic waste "thingy".

Dispose of them per ferderal, state and local environmental regulations.
They're actually quite handy in a machine shop where lubricating or cooling fluids are all over the place.

However, a New Pig ball cap has a pig's snouts and ears...they are way cool hats, IMHO.

You can call 1-800-HOT-HOGS and hear all about new pig, Hamoflage and how to be a successful marketer of a product.

Good products, supported by great marketing.

I remember when he came back as Gunta he said something about with his computer and cookies. I surmised that he had set his computer to remember his password and the cookies were deleted and he could not remember his password so he just created a new user name. He was opinionated, but I did see a few threads where he was just trying to start a flame war with people. To be honest, I really don't miss all of the commas.

Yeah,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I think he had a serious problem logging on and remembering his passwords,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, so he signed on with several new user names. He did the same thing over at the Chinese Tractor's Forum.

He was a crack up and I always made sure I wasn't drinking coffee when I read his posts. If I remember correctly over there,,,,,,,,,,,,,, after not being able to log on with thingy,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, he first used thingy2. Then he screwed that up somehow and logged on as Dick,,, rich,,,, Rick,,,,,,rich2.
What killed me is when he logged and posted,,,,,,,, "OK, so now I'm Bob"

He sure knew his welding though!

Knowing his welding is fine. I don't think anyone ever seriously questioned his welding skill swhen pertaining to work that needed superior utmost high quality/ x-ray type stuff.

However.. like soo many people that are way high up on their horse.. they forget thhat there may be a few 'real world' applications, where the years of skill and the thousands of dollars of equipment needed to do 'perfect' welds. just weren't warranted..

IE.. the average guy doing a temp farm repair on an old rusty implement out in the wind or rain.. IE.. just bustt he loose rust, and jab the pieces together, turn up the heat and run the puddle... He would absolutely loose it over those kind of posts.. He either wanted 100% welds.. or -nothing-.. when in reality.. what probably qualifies as poor to fair quality welds were and are holding lots of old farm equipment together, and have been for decades while this country became an economic powerhouse.

I'm into electronics... I like soldered connections for low resistance... Wire nuts on anything but ac work seems horrible to me... however.. In a pinch I've sure used them to get home.. or as a temp repair in lots of places.

If I took the resolute all or nothing stance that thingy took.. I'd have walked many miles when a connector broke here or there.

knowledge and rules are great. It's the application of them and knowing when its ok to break or bend them, and then actually 'getting 'er' done that counts. I don't consider myself a welder by any menas.. I do however own a weld machine,a nd I can stick metal together.. I'll probably never do x-ray quality work. however.. the batwing mower that I welded back together after a wing broke off is doing just fine... ;)

If you can't stick weld in all postions,and pass a test,you ain't a welder,period.
Benifits, well, you don't need gas, cheaper, more durable,no moving parts to clog up and wear out, etc.
It is not that it is able to penatrate more, penatration is kinda like it is or it ain't,object to welding anything together is to make those two pieces like one,you don't need 1/2 inch penatration to do this,[talking about edge penatration here, root penatration is an entirely different subject],joint is not any stronger with 1/4 inch penatration than 1/16,,now the quality of the penatration matters.thingy ...( Quote")
