So when you buy and old piece of property your never quite shure what your gonna find.
in the past 2 weeks we have gotten 1.6" of rain and we are at full "seasonal high water table" being a scant 2' below the grassy surface.

Who ever built the house/property did a great job on the driveway as it sits high with proper ditch on both sides.... that is untill it makes a bend up by the house and the ditch (now almost 3' deep) seems to just "end". one would EXPECT there to be a culver but none has ever been found. (in the 8 months we have owned the property now) That is until sat.

Before the water would just kinda fill up the ditch, then slowly "go away"... we as we pulled into the driveway after running for lunch sat afternoon i notice and odd occurrence... water seaming bubbling up out of the ground with quite the determination to get out of the ground.
So with it partly sprinkling i decide that this deserves attention. Grab the shovel, and start digging in the muddy hole. (i think i mentioned before i like playing in the mud)
The shovel turns into the axe, and pick and tile spade... LOTS of roots!

what do we find? but a 10" steel pipe/culvert that apparently runs under the driveway to the other side ditch. Almost completely full, but still manageing to move water dispite the other end that is still completely covered. We spent about 30 min probing with it with 1/4" rods but didnt find anything.... Im not real thrilled about digging it out by hand.... Yet another reason for the BH... which the CFO FINNALLY approved... BUT once we sell the house
so now i need to get my BH picked out! (i know what my first project with it will be)
