snip>Cigarette butts also... I agree that I can use another entrance if I don't want their smoke yet they should be able to dispose of their own butts.
(An aside; am I littering if I toss the butt back out that came into my truck on my boot sole? ;))<snip

I agree 100%. Nothing pi*ses me off more than a smoker throwing their filter cigarette butts down in my yard, etc. I make it a practice when I see someone do that is to pick it up and hand it back to them. Or if they're sitting in their car, I just toss it into their back seat! Filters don't deteriorate like the old time cigarettes did. They'll be lying there for years.

Want to know why it chaps me so much? 'cause I smoke. And I don't do that in their yard nor in my own. Mine gets field stripped and the filters go in my pocket until I get to a trash can. If it's not too much trouble for me - then they can do the same.

By the same standards - I don't smoke in their house if they don't smoke in their house. Simple courtesy IMHO.

I used to smoke, and like you, I never threw down a butt. And I never smoked indoors, not even in my own home.

I have been to homes where there were no smokers, only to have them put out an ash tray for me and almost beg me to be comfortable enough to smoke in their house. It was so convenient to say "I won't smoke in my own home, so I sure don't want to smoke in yours. I only smoke outdoors."

Start chat session on tiger site, after putting all the info in the form for 'what is your question' i have to repeat to support person, then wait.....wait......wait, and am provided with a phone number for the manufacture....

If it worked under win7, it should have worked in Win8

There should be a special Saturday morning roadside cleanup crew comprised of litterers and illegal dumpers. One lit cigarette butt tossed out on the freeway = 1 month of Saturday mornings with the length of community service scaled up from there. Orange Tyvek jackets labeled "LitterBug".

The big honking Chrysler keys. "Do you drive a Chrysler product or are you just happy to see me?" If you rent one ALL of the keys are bundled by a cable made of adamantium.

FALSE stories especially political, tearjerkers, and health warnings, that get forwarded or shared online as the truth. Easy to identify by the last paragraph admonishing the reader to forward/share OR ELSE. The integrity of the forwarder is always diminished by the act of forwarding.

Java, Flash, and similar "essential" "plug-ins" that persist in trying to trick you into installing useless, intrusive "toolbars" , etc. by requiring nearly daily "updates."

My excessive use of quotation marks in the previous sentence.

Republicans. The only thing worse is a Democrat.

Local news "reporting" the latest youtube video.

The first paragraph of 7 stories on the front page, or magazines with headlines for stories and hiding or neglecting a table of contents.

This FALSE story: Marie Antoinette, during one of the famines that occurred in France during the reign of her husband, Louis XVI: Upon being alerted that the people were suffering due to widespread bread shortages, the Queen replied, "Then let them eat brioche." In other words, SHE NEVER SAID "Let them eat cake."

The FALSE story I WAS TAUGHT IN SCHOOL that old windows are distorted because glass is amorphous and sags over time.

You might be getting the idea that I frown on BS.

Yeah, that one really gets me especially Java. You really need to keep Java up to date but those b^%$&)(^^ds like to install a "free" antivirus at the same time if you are not careful. Course, having two antivirus programs running can really mess up your system. I have had to clean up the kids systems a couple of times because they end up installing multiple antivirus programs.

Later,
Dan

Flimsy drink carriers from Subway. I just dumped my drink getting it out of the car. McDonald's has the best drink carriers, you can darn near build with those things.

Even worse is mowing the entire lawn, putting the mower away and closing the big barn doors only to realize you missed a strip of grass left behind in the center of the front yard. Sigh...

But if I can SEE a break in the traffic coming, I'll pull into the intersection, but if I can't see such a break coming, well, you could just get annoyed with me, too, because I don't intend to still be in the intersection when the light turns red.

Because of the overlap in the red lights, you will still have time to leave the intersection without blocking anyone's green.

Some jurisdictions might require you not to enter the intersection if you can't leave it, but I don't think that's the norm. Since you entered the intersection on green, you didn't run the light. Once it turns red, you have priority to leave the intersection.

People that call smoking a habit, it's a drug addiction.

Yep, that's the claim alright; so I'm not qualified to dispute the experts. I smoked for over 40 years, was smoking more than 2 packs a day, smoked the last one in a pack the night of July 10, 2006, and just never opened another pack. I guess the "habit" of reaching for my shirt pocket, only to find nothing there for a couple of weeks could be considered an addiction, but I sure never had any physical reaction or withdrawal symptoms or problems.
