I have 2x6 and 2x8 walls that have Rockwool in them. Will cover the interior walls soon. Any advantage of putting up fan fold or 1/2 Dow rigid insulation before the walls are covered to act as a thermal break? Also if done should the seams be taped? Thanks

It will stop the air infiltration, which to me is a good thing.
How many times have you felt a cold breeze at an electrical outlet on an outside wall.

My current home was built in l897 so I know what you mean but it is full of blown in paper insulation. The building I am doing will have conduit on the top floor so it will be external but the downstairs may be in the walls.
