I come here to tap into the opinions and experience of the members. If I wanted to know ChatGPT's opinion, I would ask it. When people just cut and paste answers from AI bots, it adds nothing to the forum. I contend it should be banned.

I agree, but on the plus side, it makes it easy to recognize a spam post that's replying to a topic with AI and the spam link.

ho man I had to restrained myself hard to not copy & paste what AI has to say about this opinions lol...

You are in tittle to your opinion and I would even add it's a valid one but personally as long as its stated (copy and paste from AI) I don't see the arm in it, that way you could simply not read that response but it can also add value for some.

How is that an example of AI?

It is likely far more detail than the questioner asked for. But standing alone as a statement responding to the question, it is a near verbatim summary of the definitions I learned in accounting classes.

Gator's not wrong there, just verbose. Maybe that style of posting is unfamiliar here. A lot of his replies are like that. He goes out and finds an answer so comprehensive that there is no room for contradicting it without looking ignorant. The ability to research a topic to provide an accurate summary, is a valuable skill - and an antidote to just believing something without verifying it. Next time someone question his posts, I think the proper response should be something equally detailed if that is what is needed to refute it, not 'nah that could never be'. :)

... And I agree a post written by a LLM engine should never be believed without separate research to see if it is reasonable. It can be based on more background information than an individual could ever find, best case, but the absence of human common sense and integrity makes AI dangerous.

I think we are nearing the era where propaganda and marketing written by AI will be overwhelmingly persuasive - because each message is tailored to the individual recipient.
