I think that Atsah has the right idea; why wait for divine intervention?
I agree but don’t be surprised when you hear someone is offering the full package—- legal defense, counseling, no jail wanted and on and on. I say punish him until he would never dare to go back to prison.

Just today I had to have my wonderful (all white) 11 year old English Labrador put down.
He was my buddy.
It is a mighty sad day in this household!

They always are, they just always are.. Sorry about your buddy..

Very cruel indeed. I would like to say more, but this isn’t the place.

I am sorry to hear that. Dogs were given to us to remind us of our own mortality, and it's always a sad day when they are gone.

My dogs are my good friends. I strive to be the man that they want me to be. I hope all my dogs will be there when I am Judged.

I am allergic to dogs but still love them. It is said animals do not go to heaven. If that is true, I wish God would reconsider. Man has never known better friend on earth.

In Wyoming, this man committed a felony by his actions. A prison sentence ( no more than 2 years) and a fine of not more than $5000.00. I hope this guy gets sentenced to the full extent of the law.

The story just seems tough to believe. If the dog really was buried alive, how did it survive? I would expect it would have suffocated in minutes.

Some people are just plain mean...
Some are cruel...
Some are a$$holes...
This guy is all three...
I hope he gets sentenced to the full amount allowed by law...

It was buried in rocks as well as dirt, that must have left some air space

Sadly there is much worse out there. I read a newspaper report years ago about Koreans that eat dogs. Some torture them to make the meat sweeter. Humans! Only as good or bad (and those terms are relative) as there belief systems.

Over the entire history of our planet, it is only short time that humans occupied it. Taking into account of our actions, how do we compare to other species?

Some say human history as it is taught is grossly wrong and short.

As far as consciousness goes. Good or bad, pain or pleasure is just a human or animal construct to serve a purpose like survival. At a deeper level, there is no differentiation between say, eating chocolate cake and being burned to death in your vehicle. They are both simply experiences, neither good nor bad.

The dog was rushed to the animal hospital and euthanized, I think they could have made room for one more.
We have six dogs at home and they all love a bit of rough play but I would never hurt them intentionally.

I have had restaurant buffet style dinners many times in Korea.
Always good, but often wondered what I had just eaten.
