I am wondering if anyone else out there is having problems keeping o rings in their backhoe. I have gone through countless o rings in the backhoe manifold. We keep extras on the truck and can get no answers from Power Trac. I was just curious if anyone else had experienced this, and if so, how did you correct it? It is frustrating! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Are you using o-rings from PT, or a generic look-a-like.
If you are using the correct o-ring for your manifold, there are two possibilities, there might be a sliver of metal floating around, and if the o-ring is on a spool, it might have a burr on it. I would break it down completely , clean throughly, and using a magnifing glass look at every thing carefully. Grit and metal slivers cause most of hyd problems. Wrong o-rings cause the other problems. Hope you find the problem.. Good luck.

Yardscraper,

Does the oring manifold operate okay at first, and then leak after a period of time. Size, material, durometer of the oring are critical, as well as size of the manifold oring seat (cleanliness like mentioned). If it is okay at first, then starts to leak, is heat/vibration causing a the manifold bolts to loosen.

I'm in the midst of a similar problem with my post-hole digger. The female quick connect from the PHD has gone out twice now in two days. It's not a hard problem to fix, but at this rate it will get very annoying. I've checked for burrs on the male portion, but can't seem to find anything.
