I have a new B3030, and want to park it on my piece of land that is a little remote. I am thinking if I park it in the timber no one will see it and it will be fine, but to be sure, I was wondering what advice you could give me to prevent anyone from being able to start it (I am looking for advice other than "take the key out idiot"). Is there a coil wire that is easily removed, or some hidden switch that prevents others from starting them, or some other method?

I would chain it to the tree (after removing key! :D ) THEN I would build a small kennel area and post my dogs near the tractor.

No one will come within 100 feet and if they try, those dogs will let you know.

you can easily wire in a hidden switch to prevent the engine from starting.
even if you do don't be surprised when it gets stolen.
you can build a shed, buy a shipping container, chain it to a metal loop in concrete.... the only problem is locks are for honest people. a determined crook in a remote location will get your stuff everytime.

the only effective way we have found is to remove the rims/tires from tractors and atv's left in remote locations.

my four wheeler and tractor come home with me every night w/o exception.

On the other thread, one of the comments is to remove the wheels. If it does not get used a lot, removing one might do the trick.

Does the 3030 have a BH on it? On many job sites, contractors will lift up the a-- end with the stabilizers and leave it that way ... You can also extend the BH arm all the way. There is also a lock that you can put around the hydraulic cylinder so that it cannot be retracted.

Good luck

One other quick idea, a friend of mine put a quick connect on the steering hydraulic hoses so if someone was not looking for it, they would certainly be delayed in getting the tractor to do anything besides make doughnuts.

In the end, good insurance along with possibly a Lojack type device will go a long way towards piece of mind.

Time to make friends with a neighbor. There is no way I'd leave my machine in a remote area.

Unplug one of the wires on the bottom of the seat.
Turn the PTO switch on.

I'd feel a little uncomfortable leaving my machine in a 'remote' area. But I'm sure you've been over that in your head.

Do you have a FEL? You could jack the front wheels off the ground pretty easily, take them off, and take them with you. Lower the bare spindles onto a spare 6x6. THAT would make it a real PITA to move your tractor anywhere.

I would be tempted to chain it to a trailer and take it home where I could keep an eye on it. I hate thieves.
