"It lacked in fit/finish, feel, drive quality, over all finish quality, and over all drive feel."
All of these items are in the realm of subjective differences, not objective differences (i.e. cannot be qualified without dispute). After I looked at Kubota vs. Kioti, I liked the "feel, drive quality" etc much better on the Kioti - again all subjective. It would have been better to have stated this in your earlier post to avoid inflaming the diehard Kioti-folk on the board than to have had to have been asked about it. There is nothing wrong with you prefering one tractor above another, but to say their is no comparison between the two without giving reason why is a bit rude (in my opinion).
If I were you and trading tractors every two years myself, I might have considered a Kubota or JD more thoroughly. The resale factor is (pretty much) an objective thing and I would guess that Kubotas and JDs hold their resale better (after all, you pay more upfront), so since you're paying for the name, so will some other person. I have thought also that the term "off brand" is an insult. I work for a company that manufactures "off brand" food product. We also manufacture "name brand" food products on the same lines, with the same ingredients and to the same specifications. There is no difference in the interior ingredient - you merely have to pay a brand name price for the same thing. Of course, this is not the case with Kioti and Kubota. Nevertheless, there do not have to be tractors termed off-brands - just different brands - they all have a name, and people should use it (unless someone builds a tractor and markets it as an "Off Brand" tractor). Of course, I would also be more likely to buy a tractor that will last my needs for more than two years, but to each their own. Good luck with your 5030.
