I need to start a new post, but boy this idea sure got our Kubota spies thinking, talking, going to the bench for a bigger player, even talking about taste! Here's a comment to stir up some more creative writing....... Wonder why on the Kubota web site in the Grand L's competitive comparsion chart, they only compare to Deere and Holland.............. hmmmmm! KIOTI's number shown there might not be good for business.... you think.... I bet I get it now! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Well, I will admit that after reading this post I fully researched the DK55C when looking at the Kubota L5030HSTC. I climbed all over, under, and around each tractor. Sorry, but it is clearly comparing a Lexus to a Kia. Both cars have 4 wheels and get you from one place to another, but no comparison otherwise. Again, sorry, but after close inspection of both tractors there is no comparison. That is not to say that there is not a place for the Kioti tractor, but to me it is simply wishful thinking to place the two on an even comparison. Just my opinion. With my hard earned money, I'm certainly open to purchasing what I feel is the best quality product. I'd previously been a life long JD owner. Therefore, I do not have a blindness to any particular brand. Thanks for this post to have me look closely at the Kioti tractor, but no thanks to the tractor. Also, the initial price advantage of the Kioti is completely eaten up when it comes to resale. Sorry, I took your "challange", and to me the Kioti clearly lost.

Don't you want to offer up some of the reasons you found it not to be what buddy thinks it is? Just saying it isn't even close doesn't tell anyone what you found to be lacking.
As for resale, are you buying a tractor to resell? I submit that you don't know what it would resell for until you try to resell one. I'll qualify this post by saying that I haven't compared these two tractors and I don't even care how they compare, but just to say it's "not even close" doesn't tell anyone very much. John

No problem. It lacked in fit/finish, feel, drive quality, over all finish quality, and over all drive feel. As for resale, that is the most obvious. All I have to do is look at what percentage of drop a 2 year old Kioti takes in my area as compared to the percentage drop that a JD, NH, or Kubota takes. The Kioti drops value nearly twice as fast from it's lower starting point, and apparently is harder to move. Fact. I generally buy a new tractor every two years, and how well they hold their value is very important. Again, thanks for the advice to compare. It helped me understand why the major manufacturers are more expensive than the off brands. Like I mentioned before, I did change brands, just not to an off brand. Like the old saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Simple enough, you generally get what you pay for. That's all. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
