The best Norman Lear to me was "Sanford & Son". Redd Foxx was amazing. "All In The Family" I certainly can relate more to Archie than 'Meathead' . Norman Lear did lot's of groundbreaking work but weaved his liberal ideas in the episodes.

That's what made it a hit show, two guys bickering about opposite views of anything and everything and remaining a loving family.

"All In The Family" I certainly can relate more to Archie than 'Meathead' .

What's funny is that Carrol O'Conner was supposedly much more liberal than Rob Reiner. They were sort of playing the opposite roles of their off-stage debates.

That's what made it a hit show, two guys bickering about opposite views of anything and everything and remaining a loving family.

Just like Last Man Standing. Mike and Chuck were both smart characters, lots of hilarious debate.

I had a classmate in college from Kuwait. My first, firsthand, exposure to someone from the middle east. Kinda strange guy, seemed naive (maybe due to him being tossed into the "new" American culture - in the 70's), but I liked him. Son of a Mercedes dealer, but he was driving a new Pontiac.
