I don't know. On the otherhand, where did you get the notion this is fiction? As I have read and as some folks in both the administrations have stated, it is as acurate in detail as they know it to be. If you find it highly improbable, read the 9/11 commision report which is where the content for the show is primarily based. The committee was comprised of Democrats and Republicans. When I first heard about this show- here and on Rush- I was looking forward to watching it- and I don't watch alot of tv. The more I hear about it, the less I like it. True, it's not fair to judge a show before I watch it, but... they allowed the press corp and others to watch it. Then they are still editing it before it airs? Makes me wonder who complained about what, and what is being left on the editing room floor.
True, they called it a docu-drama, not a documentary. So what does that mean- a fictional story based on a true event OR a mostly accurate represetation of the event with some changes due to time constraints? If it is the fictional account they better make sure to clearly state this. Unfortunately too many people will watch this and accept it as fact. Add to this that three different people can watch it and come up with three different conclusions!
I'm sure that alot of people had issues with the way they were shown in this show- let's just hope that ABC stands thier ground and that the ongoing editing isn't too severe.
Maybe all of this hoopla is just trash talk before the big game to create even more excitement about it. For me, the more I hear about it, the less likely I am to set thru 5 hours of revisionist history.

And with any luck it will be a reasonably accurate representation of the events. There is no way that ABC or the 9/11 commission can know EXACTLY what occurred in the back rooms. But just like anyone who ever served on a jury knows, the facts as they are understood can be played out and rational people can be left to their own good judgement to decide for themselves.

I'd never heard of it until this thread poped up, but now with all the protesting and complaining, I'm curious.

Just hearing the information in the news about what happened and why certain groups want parts of it changed is eye opening. I had no idea that there were 8 to 9 times that we had ***** and didn't do anything about it. Before, I'd only heard of the one time.

I also didn't know that when sandy burger got cought steeling documents from the national archive, that he also destroyed some of them and nobody knows what was in those documents.

Bob makes a very interesting point too. Nobody is denying that they had the oportunities to get osaman, they are denying specifics of those ocasions as leverage to have those scenes removed.

Overall, it's been very interesting and quite informative without even being shown yet. I can't wait to hear about it after everyone has seen it.

Eddie, that was my original intent with the post, simply to get it out there that there might be something quite interesting to watch. Several folks on the 9/11 commission were paid advisors to help in the accuracy of this docu-drama in which in dramatacised showing unfolds the sequence of events that ultimately lead to what happened 5 years ago on 9/11. I understand it starts around 1993, but of course, that should not suggest that that is when terroism began against the free world. That was the first bombing of one the trade tower buildings. I agree with the previous posters, if ABC bows to pressure from those who are portrayed in less then what they feel are accurate representations of themselves in the movie, yet the 9/11 report deems accurate, then it will be extremely disappointing. My suggestion then is don't watch it if you find it offensive, inappropriate or fake. The left leaning blogs are full of themselves over this movie. What are they afraid of, we might learn what was in the report?

Just as everything in Michael Moore's work was based on truth or actual events, so, I am certain, is every detail in this current docudrama. Based on truth or actual events. Such a useful phrase. Why need we worry about history? It is now created freshly every day by commentators, talking heads and docudramas. As has been made abundantly clear by the various comments in this thread, the principal value of these presentations is to further inflame partisan feelings. The very best of lies are always based on truth or actual events, otherwise what idiots would believe them? Even most of the more insane blabberings which are used by the Arab press to inflame their readers have a grain of truth in them. Based on truth or actual events. Someone should have received a Pulitzer for inventing the concept, though I imagine the actual invention ocurred in prehistoric times. We Humans have always been creative with Truth.

You can't believe anything out of Washington or Hollywood. By the time they get through twisting it and turning it the truth isn't anywhere to be found.

If we could run the whole bunch in Washington off and start over, we might get 10 good years out of the new ones before they were corrupt, too.

All any of them are worried about is getting rich off taxpayers and blaming everyone else. I'd hate to see them have to get a real job, and that goes for all their buddies and friends sucking up money from some bogus, multi-layered bureaucratic, screwing-over-the-working-man, waste of our money government job that serves absolutely no purpose and they will never be fired from. You can't get fired for doing nothing when the job requires nothing.

Clinton was a joke, Bush has nerve, but I don't know if I trust him or any other pony Washington will trot out for us to ride after he goes out of office. We'll never know the details behind 9/11. You can rest assured the politicians carefully covered their mistakes in the report. After all, the report was generated by politicians. They may wear a different stripe, but they are still politicians.

9/11 was a terrible day. I honestly don't think Hollywood or Washington has even one person in it as good as the people who went to work that morning in the towers or those that tried to rescue them later that day.

Those people were heroes. They died doing what they do, making the wheels of this country turn.

Wahington nor Hollywood can do them justice with a stack of lies in a report or some sensationalized docudrama.

After the show is aired, should it be aired, then you can pick it apart, call it as you see it. The great thing about "history" in this case is the participants (both Democrats and Republicans) are all still alive to contribute to this show. If you are well aware of the 9-11 commissions report which few have torn apart as a complete fabrication even in circumstances where evidence was unavailable or inconclusive but dots were connected, then you will certainly be prepared to discern where liberties were taken. To call it before you have seen would be to me irresponsible.

CDs Dad, you have just taken this way to political, something that always happens and now, I suspect this thread will be locked.

From those reporting who have seen the movie, you do not come out with hatred for any president other then what you may have had prior to watching it, but you do without doubt have very negative feelings about those who purportrated 9/11 as well as the many other terroist acts that have happended subsequent to 9/11. You also are left with how things broke down which in my opinion is inevitable in such a large bureauracy.
