I hesitate to speak for someone else, but when hilld said that this is the "Hollywood edition" of the 9/11 Commission report, I took that to mean that it's a condensed, made-for-TV retelling of the story in a format that is more accessible to the masses (like me).

Of course, another connotation of "Hollywood edition" would be that it is a leftist/liberal propaganda piece, and that may be what you are reading into the phrase (and what hilld meant?).

To me "Hollywood Edition" is basically 'book -> movie', that is it. What usually happens with book -> movie, a lot of detail gets left out, other details are made up to make it more sensational and some facts get distorted. What really irks me is when movies get made, they don't even get the facts straight or even the details correct. Look at military uniforms in movies, they are completely wrong (rank, insignia, decorations, etc), or when there are car crashes and the car get banged up, in the next scene the car is new again. - how believable is that.

Thanks for the clarification Derek, that makes sense. I am curious to see how based on the knowledge I have gathered in the past, the movie brings the "facts" together.

Look at military uniforms in movies, they are completely wrong
as they should be - determined by law - read that somewhere - maybe IAW military law? dunno

I hope it gets shown..... knowledge and freedom of the press is important.... we msut all reach our own conclusions (on any topic) but only after becomming informed... and, nobody is COMPLETELY informed... we can all only be aware of a limited amount and it's always from limited sources, regardless of how unbiased and complete any source seeks to be. That's the imperfect world we live in and we must proceed to live and make decisions based on our imperfect information.

Yeh, that's kindof old news ... Rush was reporting that last week sometime. I do like the odd position the situation puts ABC in though

Maybe ABC can get the Iranian President to comment on it while he is in New York next week at the United Nations seeing as he's already denied the Holocast ever happened.......I'm sure he'll really enjoy this quasi-documentary.

Today there are all sorts of news stories about protests from members of the Clinton staff and administration about misrepresentations in the special. If you read them very carefully, they seem to be objecting to specific meetings that were "dramatized" for the special. Apparently some of those meetings did not take place in the way they were portrayed, or perhaps with some of the people who were portrayed to be in the meetings. However what I find most interesting is that the objections did not center around the factual intent of the events presented. For example, some are specifically saying they did not take place in a meeting that was portrayed, but they are not actually disputing the timeline, or the overall storyline, only some specific information which may have cast them as a party to blame.

Overall, it seems like it is probably going to be accurate enough to give us a good image of the events and I'd guess that is about as good as TV can do.
