Perfect. I still have not re-tightened it yet so a few have a little bit of slack. Overall I give it an "A". Where are ya looking on Norris?

It's good your looking in winter so you can see how far down they draw the lake. My wife is in real estate over here in Hancock county & we have seen some really good buy's over on Norris.

Well, 18 month house build....95% by myself & no real (big) injury. So, last week I'm down at the shop taking down the Wilson cellphone repeater antenna to move up to the log house. I stepped off a flat 8' high roof onto my 17' (in A frame configuration) Gorilla ladder. Like an idiot I didn't kneel down first then step but was standing up(yes I know better:banghead:)....yep the ladder started to tip sideways due to my weight transfer. So, instead of going down with the ladder I decided to bail out(no parachute) & jump. I did the 'ole tuck & roll letting my legs absorb the impact....and it worked! I rolled over thinking, "wow nothing snapped"....then I see the ladder enroute getting larger and larger like some giant chunk of the spacelab...."SLAM"! The apex of the "A" hit my right shin just below the knee:muttering:

No, I didn't go to the ER and yes it blew up like a mad puffer fish that night. It went down the next day & other then some discomfort it seemed to be getting better until 8 days later when it really started to swell and turn a myriad of really neat colors. Off I went to the Dr's office for x-rays...nope nothing broken, but I have orders to be off my feet for 3-4 days or face possible Compartment Syndrome. What's that you ask? I had to ask because I never heard of it....basically a hematoma type injury that swells so much it cuts off the blood supply to the muscles....this is not good.

Swelling is down some now, but man I hate sitting around with a leg in the air:smiley_aafz:

I think my shin modelling days are over..............

Ouch, that had to hurt. Another career choice down the drain--not much demand for left legged shin models.

Follow the doc's orders or your next wood working project will be a peg leg.

Sorry about the fall. At least you didn't break something. Yes, you'll want to seriously take care of that leg. I have an older relative who got a hematoma (internal bleeding) that pushed up against a nerve, caused unrelenting pain, and seriously handicapped one leg, very possibly permanently.
