Well don`t wait as long as me to use the little fan....As you experiment, the fan , set on low, and only eight inches, really made a difference...You could not really feel any breeze, but the slow movement of air --added up---Try it before you put the stairs in, and see if the cabin doesn`t warm up way quicker....I was surprised :) Tony

I have plenty of fans so I will give it a shot. It will be down around 33/34 tonight before warming back up this week(just cold enough to kill all the tomato blooms).

Ooooohhh, Y'all are gonna love this! We still have not closed our re-fi......"why" you ask??? A four letter word is "why"......

Yes, in 2010 all banks have to check the FEMA flood maps to see if the residence is in a flood zone. Of course the log house is 158' above the creek, but FEMA's map is wrong showing the area at creek level which is a flood zone. No, they won't accept "27 8x10 color glossy photographs" as evidence. Nor would they accept a notorized affidavit from the mayor and building inspector of our county. They want us to go get $2K in flood insurance(ha... fat chance).

So, FEMA has no way/no one within their agency to correct these maps. Correction falls upon "us", the land owner and the only thing they will accept is a licensed surveyor's survey showing the location of the house along with the gps coordinates. The surveyor was out on Friday and already has this done, but my big question is how can FEMA dump this on my shoulders to fix their issue....at MY expense? I have a big problem with this.......grrrrrrr..............!!!!!!!!!!!!

Motor....I sold a Moto cross track for a client and we ran into the same problem with the FEMA maps being wrong as to the location of the flood plain...At a cost of a little over $1K for a surveyor we fixed the problem...How screwed up is it that the citizens have to pay to fix the governments mistakes...can get much more onerous or boot on your neck like than that....I feel your pain as politicians have a way of saying...

If it floods where your or my house is I hope the Ark has been built. TYPICAL utter nonsense from the federal government.

Huh Mike, an ark is being built in Ohio or Iowa. I forgot which. It is in a Christian Theme Park.

According to the bank and the Mayor they are using some kind of outdated maps(big surprise). Even free topo's on-line & Google Earth show my property correctly. I guess I will have to sue FEMA in small claims court for the surveyor's fee if they refuse to pay it...and I bet they will.
