Yes, some of them are. Since nobody wants to live under them, they are a good fit for hay fields.

The countryside is pretty up here. We are getting lots of national attention from the escaped double murderer.
Is that the guy who climbed up the walls like a little kid does in a hallway? I saw a video of him looking at the camera as he started climbing up those walls. It's hard to believe that nobody did that before him!!!!

Of course the jail provides all the gymnastic equipment to get in shape for such an escape.

Yep, that’s the guy. Still on the lamb. I bet I’ve been very, very close to this guy. Middle of this week, I think he was in the Brandywine while I was mowing hay right next to the river.

Today was another good day, but got cut short by some heavy, short downpours at about 5PM. Today I baled the hill across the road from historic Ring Farm. Very steep ground. It was grazed by Brown Swiss for about 100 years, or baled with loose hay way back, then small squares until about 2012 when I got there. Definitely a challenge with the large square baler.
You can see where I baled across the valley Wednesday near the barn. Barn was built in the late 1800’s. Railroad berm to the left.

Here’s one of the steeper hillsides I do. It’s a pucker factor of about 8 out of 10. I lock the tandems together on the baler so it won’t slide as much.

Here’s the view of the Krone baler behind me. Think my rear window is a little dirty? LOL

Anxious moments on final pass. I knew I was low on fuel, about 1/4 tank and just wanted to finish ahead of thundershowers. Made a turn downhill, then quickly uphill. I think I sloshed fuel in the tank and grabbed some air. She died with 38,000 pounds pulling me backwards At the top of the hill. I started going backwards down the hill a bit and jammed on the service brakes. Luckily the transmission will go into park with the engine stalled. I had to add about 10 gallons of diesel to get her going again. The 8.3L Cummins has an electric fuel supply pump and running out of fuel is not a big deal.

Nice farm, nice work. 38k pounds sounds like it will pull you anywhere it wants to go.

Something like that I think you'd aim it not steer it. It would be a seat staining moment for sure.

HD, you ever flip a rig, not to jinx you just wondering?

Not yet.
Not always, but the tendency is to slide before flipping. I always feared pulling up a hill, then losing power, but at least I found out the brakes held after the engine stalled and I was able to put it the transmission in park. That was a scary moment.
I won’t bale hills on 1/4 tank anymore!

Hay Dude, looks like there is now a 20K reward for info leading to the arrest of the escaped prisoner that is around your area. Time to start hunting. LOL
