I really don't know what we would do without the internet today and how we got by without it. Recently I was in need of a cornering light for my 17 year old motorhome which is on a F53 Ford frame. Of course Ford doesn't stock many parts for this other than some of the engine and suspension parts.
Anyway a quick search on the internet turned up not only the cornering light but also a full set of lights for both side including headlight, cornering light and parking light for $138. Not only was I afraid I wouldn't find my light but that the cost would be $$$$$$$ like they are for newer cars.

I am so thankful for Google and the internet for finding my parts for this and other repairs to my aging motorhome and other items needed. It has saved me hundreds of dollars rather than buying locally at exorbitant prices for repair items.

Agreed here. I use it mostly as an encyclopedia to study people, places, history, geography, stuff and, of course, TBN.
Cheers,
Mike

For the life of me I can't figure out how giving foreign governments control of major infrastructure is NOT a national security risk.

It is a wonderful resource to find virtually anything you want or need and to get diverse opinions on topics that you thought you knew all about.

Pls explain: 1) how the internet is inherently American? 2) how you "give up control" and 3) what you think the UNs role in the internet actually is.
N Korea already has access to the internet by the way. Their citizens don't, but the internet exists in N Korea.

When a foreign government dislikes or bans a sight you may need or like then you will understand!

At the content delivery point, yes it can be censored. I censor my sons internet access today. However you still havent supported your statements. Don't confuse content censor ship with your understanding of the infrastructure that is the internet.

K4 you must be absolutely correct cause if he didn't invent it, it wouldn't exist. Didn't he get a Nobel for inventing the internet?

Off topic but related: Hollywood actress Hedy Lamarr was co-inventer of the method WIFI and Bluetooth are using. It was invented for unjammable torpedo guidance in WWII.
