Why are the two rippers on each end canted outward from top to bottom? I haven't followed the whole saga of the production of this unit, so my apologies if I missed the explanation earlier.

BTW, good job on this unit. It does indeed look beastly.

The rippers are tilted to get closer to the edge and maintain accessibility to the huge 1" pins that hold them on.
