The B2650 count down has begun!

/ The B2650 count down has begun! #481
Same here Dan. It has been so dry that there aren't but about 45 hours on mine. I just finished doing a 650 hour total service on the B2620 and am all ready to do the 50 hour on the B2650. These two machines will out live me for sure.
Cheers,
Mike

I suspect I'll be real close to 300 by the end of 2018 if material keeps coming at a similar pace. I keep thinking that our might slow down though in fall/ winter.

So, my father is 68 and retired and he hangs out in my garage/driveway most week days along with my dog waiting for dump trucks to bring in material, and then he uses my Kubota to move and manage that material.

The issue is that he has pretty debilitating neck and spine arthritis that very much limits his ability to look upwards, and more importantly... To look back. So when on the Kubota, he really can not look behind him without a lot of pain and by turning his hips and entire upper body.

I've been telling him that I was going to find a way to make the tractor easier for him to use, so this evening after work I grabbed some scrap 1"x1" angle and made a bracket that sticks up 14" and out 9" with a curved wide angle mirror mounted to it.

This is what I've come up with so that it is high enough and out far enough for him to be able to get a decent view behind, to mount with 2 spare factory bolts in the right side loader upright, and be able to be removed for trail work in about 30 seconds. It's not exactly pretty, but he came over this evening and sat on the machine and loved it!

I'll paint it kubota orange this weekend so that it looks at least a little better, but I think that this will help a lot. I wish they had those factory bolts on the left side, I'd mount a second one over there. I'm afraid to modify the loader in any way for fear that it would contradict the warranty and the KTAC insurance coverage. I'll think on it a bit, maybe I'll say to heck with it and drill holes to mount another mirror.

Even my garage toad likes it! You can tell by the big happy smile on his face!

3 years has past. Over 800 engine hours have also past. The B2650 had been a total beast for 3 years doing work that was often above its pay grade.

But looking here you'll note the old asphalt drive and you'll note the fill I've taken and worked. I've had many thousands of trucks. I've filled across to my neighbors where I keep 2 trailers, that was once a 30 or so foot valley. I've added massive width to the upper drive. I've added around 120 feet to the rear lower drive.

All of this has been handled by the mighty B.

It's been a great tractor. I suspect that it will continue.

Trying again from a PC since tapatalk on my phone does not like me uploading pics to this particular forum.

Note that 3 years ago you barely fit a truck between the wall and the steep embankment going dow to the lower drive, and the lower drive in front of the garages was just enough space to get a truck hooked around to the garage doors with 1 trailer sitting along the woods line with one side slightly over the hill.

The upper driveway ended with sharp slopes right at the edges of the blacktop you see. Where the 2 trailers are out at the end of the driveway was a very deep and steep valley with severe water erosion, those trailers are 20-30 feet over the old V shaped cut between me and my neighbor. Also straight in from the road is around 50 feet deep of fill, all along the length of the driveway is 20-30 feet of fill where you see my truck and Grand Prix sitting. We have added a massive amount of flat and usable land area to the driveway.

All the photos work for me. And that's great, all the work that your rig has done. Quite the expansion.

It took 3 weeks to build my L6060HSTC with the BH92 and 3rd function. Granted a lot more parts but I suspect the dealers shops likely prioritize service work over builds. Not sure how all that works. 1 week seems fair based on my limited experience.
Not in my experience. I have two dealerships that have done work on mine. The first was semi prompt and did my valves and third function in a week or so after getting parts. The other dealer spent weeks letting my blade sit while they put mowers together and neglected my blade. I finally went into the service bay and started putting my blade together. The service manager helped. This was on a Saturday morning after I’d been promised it would be done several times already but nothing had ever been done on it.

apparently it was commonplace for customers to work on their tractors at that dealership because there was a 70+ year old man putting a window in his!

I’ll never buy from the second dealer again.
