I noticed your last post was # 11,379.

I calculated that if you spent just 4 minutes per post, you would have put in a total of 45,516 minutes (helping us folks out here in tractor land), or 758.6 hours or almost 19 weeks at 40 hours per week.

I just wanted to say thank you. Your information is timeless and informative. You are a gentleman and a scholar; always.

Thanks for the compliment, Joe. I never think to even look at how many posts I've made, much less calculate how much time I've spent. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I probably spent too much time on the Internet (most of it on this forum) even when we lived in the country, but since I had to come back to town, with high speed cable service, and don't find much on the TV I care to watch, I really spend too much time sitting here. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Yup, we are fortunate to have Bird as a member of TBN, knows practically everything and is always willing to share his knowledge and help us with our sometimes inane questions.

I'll chime in on this one, and say that Bird has been very influentual in my choice of tractor & motor oil & etc etc. .......well there does'nt seem to be and end to the good info. I agree with everyone here. You sure have been an asset to this group. No matter what the topic is you have an answer. Not just any answer but an answer of experience and wisdom. You have helped me out many times and I appreciate it. One of my goals some day when in Texas is to stop in and see you. I would just love to sit down over a soda and talk with ya.

Murph, I'd be glad to visit with you down here. And I've only been to your state once, and really enjoyed it. We spent a few days along the shore of Lake Superior northeast of Duluth, then on up to International Falls before heading south again.

You missed one big hunk of iron. You have to stand next to this thing to appreciate it. The individual drive trains actually articulated as it is so long. I wished I had a better picture. That is my dad and me standing in front of here. She ran on fuel oil.

Murph, I'm sorry I missed that. If I'd known it was there, I'd have gone to see it. We went to museums all over the country. My wife was just in here and thinks we did see it, but I think she's thinking of a railroad museum we visited in Pennsylvania. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Her memory's bound to be worse than mine, right? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

And we were both fascinated by the tour of the Boise Cascade paper mill in International Falls. I just found a place on the Internet that lists it as one of the top 18 plant tours in the country and I can believe that.
