Okay folks you ask for wet weather for Texas so I did my little rain dance for you yesterday while trimming trees,and I hope today brings you rain and cooler temps. )

Now...how about you folks down there do a warm weather dance for us up here in northeast..... fair is fair.

Looks like I'm going to have to purchase a ton of speedy dry for the lawn if I plan to mowe.

Thomas, I need to learn that dance you did. Between midnight and mid-morning yesterday, I got .95" of rain, and then between midnight and now today, I got another 2.45" (and still barely sprinkling)./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I just got through resetting clocks in the house, since we had lots of thunder and lightning and the power must have gone off and back on at least 8 to 10 times during the night. There's going to be some tall grass to mow when it gets dry enough. I'll bet Wen's coastal even got watered./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Hope you get the warmer drier weather you want. I guess a warm weather dance would be a fan dance, wouldn't it?/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Glad to hear you finally got some much needed rain,but hang on there more rain on the way.
I notice the weatherlady ( yes sir thats right...the weatherlady) said isolated T-Storms and there a flood warning...yikes.
Maybe by mid week you can mowe once again.
A fan dance you wrote,maybe that what I do when a snake surprise me.

May it green back up and enjoy your tractor time.

Yeah Thomas, rain in Texas can vary tremendously within small areas; I'm now up to 3.85" in the last two days, but some places have had over 7" and there's been some flooding, even evacuations and folks in Red Cross shelters. Now I hope those folks don't get any more, but for me personally, my 10 acres is relatively flat, but does slope off slightly in every direction (I'm on the crest of what little hill there is), and the lake is still down about 4' so I don't care if it does continue to rain right here. And the yard needs mowing now, so it'll really be some tall grass by the time it's dry enough to mow; and I'm sure not complaining at all!/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Just glad to see it!

Maybe I should start considering a rice crop?/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Thomas did good with the rain dance,, we got the over 7" you mentioned (7 1/2). No flooding though.

Bird, I think we found the land we were looking for. 16 acres just North of *********, 75% woods. Kubota dealer 10 miles away and I think there is a NH dealer in town. Now I need to start planting tractor seeds.

Not really sure what I need, but may try to lease to try a couple out. Now the fun starts!

Lloyd, I've only gotten 3.85" of rain to this point and it's great. Glad to hear you found a place you like, and that's actually prettier country around ********* than in this county, I think. I've only met Carl Hassell, the Kubota sales manager at the dealership in *********, once, but he seemed like a nice guy. He also used to live in Frost. And I believe there's both a New Holland and a John Deere dealership in ********* also.

Great Rain In North Central Texas, 8" in Near By Mineral Wells. Our Stock Pond Is Running Over The Spill-Way (1st time in 3 years). Bar Ditches Were Level Full Of Water. I Think I Even Saw A Couple Of Amsoil Jugs Float By. and Thomas Thanks For The Dance. I Can't Do A Heat Wave Dance For You However, Its Too Muddy Here To Do So.

I'm glad to read your water table little above average.

Heck if you could do a little stomping in the mud to send some warm dry weather for a while I would be greatful.

Once again its raining here and will tomorrow,and the temp 42 degress now and tomorrow night I heard 35 degress.
Heck,can't even get to my tress to do some preping with out making 6 to 12 inch ruts.....arrrr.
If I don't mowe the lawn soon I'll need someone to cut and bail it,for the grass is growing like corn.....arrrrr.

So how about you and your wife do a Texas waltz for us up here.

********* is different, lots more green and lots more hills. The Kubota dude I talked to was Mike Bishop at Rucker Equipment Co. I heard they had been there only about 5 weeks. Haven't found the JD dealer yet, I know there is one in Athens a few miles away.

JimBinMI would be proud of me. I went by the NH dealer in ********* and I must say I was impressed with his attitude. Not a fancy dealership, but looks serviceable. Think he pretty much talked me out of buying right now. His idea is to lease, from him or someone else and get the nasty work done with someone else's tractor and then spend the money. Will stay nice longer and may be able to get by with a smaller one. Can get a 50 hp with front end loader, box blade, and brush hog for about $150 per day. Older tractor but will give me some experience and get the rough stuff out of the way. Anyway, food for thought.
