Jimmy's is the best Italian Market & Deli in Texas is on the corner of Haskell & Fitzhugh in East Dallas. We're hoping to make it a quick trip and get back home by noon.

Wish all you guys and gals a safe memorable holiday season.

Actually got .44 in the rain gauge yesterday, so happy about that. Deer food plot is doing great as is the winter grasses now. We still have a yearly deficit over 14" though!

Speaking of winter grasses, I applied a heavy dose of Scott's Winterguard fertilizer this Fall and I've got the greenest lawn on the block. Did that stuff have winter grass seeds in it? I mowed day before yesterday and got about .47" of rain yesterday.

Don, I will look for that station next time thru. It is normally a bit higher there than the price in Giddings. I wish I had the money to buy a 1000 gallon tankful.

I'm already worrying about the Texas economy. Many drilling projects have been shelved. The fallout will be devastating I fear.

Merry Christmas everyone!!! Ag reports say we have not hit bottom .. $40 oil is expected.

My fuel supplier will let me contract 2015 fuel .. If I contract 1000 gallons gotta take 1000 gallons over the 2015 yr .. I used 865 last yr .. So I'm a thinking.

Found out a bit ago my son lost hs new 2 month old job in the oil and gas "thang", along with his uncle and his girlfriend. He said the call came like this " Hey how you doing? hate to tell you this now, but you're fired" Good money in it, but little security. Also heard Halliburton is merging with another company, they said over 20k folks will be terminated in that merger alone.

I don't know much about oilfield related stuff but I heard on the radio a few weeks back that domestic companies need the price per barrel to stay at or above mid 60's.

Some would like it to stay above $90

Robby--Yes they are looking pretty good and getting it all together at the right time. They are starting to remind us of the old Cowboys in the Super Bowl days. The offensive line is awesome and the whole has some fight in them and a little bit of attitude.

Yep, it's not supposed to get here until Wednesday night. So that's OK with me. For a lot of years, we hosted a big neighborhood New Year's Eve party each year, but haven't even stayed up until midnight for the last 25 years or so. New Year's Eve is also my wife's birthday so of course she wants to go out to eat for her birthday, but like lots of older people, we'll do that early in the day; at least before dark.

This year, we spent the day after Thanksgiving putting up the Christmas tree, outside lights, etc.. It was pretty cool yesterday morning, but dry, so I worked outside and she worked inside and we got all the Christmas decorations down, boxed, and stored in the overhead shelf of the shop.

And of course we do need rain in this area, so as long as we don't get enough ice to take down power lines and such, it'll be OK with us.

We need moisture in any form we can get it, but ice always seems to be a challenge for Texas drivers. 20% chance of ice/snow mix Wednesday a.m. Then 50% chance of Ice for Thursday, 60% chance of rain Friday:thumbsup: We have a rain deficit of over 14" for 2014:eek:
