Outstanding sign!!! Great work BR. Charlie

Thanks Charlie .. Scott really made it come together with the cedar.. I like the idea he has to let it rust naturally.

Perryton.............county seat of Liscomb county. Down the road is Higgins, where Dad was raised. He raised Pheasants when I was little. He was making Mom a Pheasant hat and never finished it. Seems me or my brother left the gate open between the young and older pheasants cages and they all killed each other. Except one.... Dad's Mounted Pheasant.jpg Dad had the last one standing mounted. I have had it for years on my wall
I don't think it was I, that left that gate open, cause I was scared of their pecking beaks.

Have you ever shot a Prairie Chicken by mistake?
hugs, Brandi

Got back from my annual pheasant hunt in Perryton, tx. Love these birds....

Got a good history lesson on how farming has evolved in that region..gone from using plows to discs to now using sweeps along with a 52' drill. They have two pivot tractors and farm 5k acres with only 2 people. Fun looking in their barns seeing all the old equipment and still have quite a few steam and horse drawn stuff...

Bailed out of Houston mid afternoon today heading to the ranch. Traffic in Houston was terrible. Not going back until 1st week in new year. Life at ranch is great! Hoping for some good rain tomorrow.

Merry Christmas and happy New Years to All!

Yes Brandi three miles west of town on Highway 21. The majority take two to four days but the custom stuff with initials or brands may take a few weeks. And depends on how far down the list the order is.

Two Crested Caracara on pasture today. It's the bird on the Mexican flag.

Those are kinda pretty. I assume they are a type of vulture? Last year at the renaissance festival we watched the bird show. Falcons, owls, vultures, hawks, etc. Very interesting.

Hehehe. I don't mean order time. I mean how many hours do you usually take to make a pair.

Christmas with my kids comes Saturday afternoon and evening. They will be with my ex at my ex MIL's house in East Texas for Christmas. I went there last year for Thanksgiving. It was okay, but not a "do-every-year" thing. I am going to Christmas Eve service with a friend. Then plan on using up a "few" gallons of diesel moving dirt Christmas day. I pick up 30 gallons of off road diesel tomorrow.
I have a lot of fencing material ready, also, for my 13 days off.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We're getting flooded right now. Bring on the rain!
hugs, Brandi

BR-- I like the Weather Patina look too. I like to think of it as Colored by Mother Nature.

Glad to hear that your getting the family together, that's the best part of Christmas. We've got the Boys coming out in shifts. One tribe the day after Christmas and the next after New Years. Our newest Grandbaby hasn't been out to the place yet so we're hoping for good weather.

For all who are getting in the traveling mode please be safe out there, and I want to take this time to wish Ya'll a Merry Christmas and a better New Year.

One and a half inches of rain so far. Duck/island pond only up a couple of inches. We need about 3 days of this slow rain. Or just a gully washer.

Two Crested Caracara on pasture today. It's the bird on the Mexican flag.

They are becoming quite common. Remember the 1st one I saw in person was south of Llano about 18 years ago.

Nowadays, they hang out with buzzards eating road kill. About 6 months ago I saw my 1st bald eagle just north of Lake Somerville. He was eating road kill too....
